Zing is a concept for a pickle brand that offers flavorful pickles, perfect for adding a tangy punch to your meals or enjoying as a snack. Zing is the ideal choice for food lovers who crave a little extra zest in their lives (brief by @designerbriefs on Instagram).

When I read the brief, I envisioned bold typography, and bright, fresh colors.

The logo is a combination mark, with the word Zing in Tumb Test Regular font, and an illustration of a pickle replacing the superscript dot on the “i” and the counter in the “g”.
Tumb Test Regular is a display typeface with a bold, modern, and quirky feel. The large shapes of its letters fit well with the pickle illustration.
I selected an especially vivid color as the main one (lime), and contrasted it with another color that’s not expected for a food brand (a blue-ish bright violet). The contrast intended to express the feeling of sourness and tanginess.
The palette includes secondary colors for each Zing flavor (orange for the spicy version, Naples yellow, and pale yellow for garlic). These colors also express flavorfulness.

The logo is in Tumb Test Regular (which I discuss further above). As for the copy I used the Regular, Medium, and Extra Bold fonts of Dunbar Text.

Dunbar Text is an interesting typeface. It is geometric (but not as much as its predecessors Dunbar Tall and Dunbar Low), while also having rounded edges. It helped the brand feel bold without being too serious either. After all, snack time is meant to be fun.
The brand visuals consist of the same pickle illustration used in the logo,  and sometimes a starburst.
The photography style includes bright colors.
